The article researches the design and the purpose of the lower tier chamber in the Bent Pyramid of Sneferu in Dashure. The review of the earlier archeological research materials has shown that the purpose of the chamber has not been determined. In the process of the current research a technological link between the lower and the upper tiers of the pyramid has been found. It has been proven that the lower tier elements (the chamber itself, the shaft, and the chimney) all together comprised an ancient furnace – a CO/CO2 gas generator. Its purpose was to produce a mixture of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide gas to fill the space of the upper tier of the pyramid. The goal of the architect or was to make the pyramid chambers deadly for burglars. Constructive similarities between the furnace in the lower tier of the Sneferu Pyramid and the modern CO/CO2 gas generator have been established. A theory about the presence of the secret chambers in the pyramid, including the chamber containing the Sarcophagus of the Pharaoh has been substantiated. A theory explaining the purpose of changing the shape and the construction of the Bent Pyramid specifically has been proposed.

This method relates to the construction of pyramids in the desert. The method comprises building layered and receding stone obstacles on the desert floor. The said obstacles entrap sand carried by wind to gradually form and grow sand dunes around each of the relatively thin layers of stone built one on top of the other. The construction process alternates in cycles between periods of Pyramid layer construction, followed by periods of trapping windblown sand until the built layer is covered. Then the shallow surface of the sand dune accumulation at each stage of construction allows the building of solid surface ramps for sliding and/or dragging the stones on sledges up to the structure's upper surfaces. The construction of a pyramid and the simultaneous development of a sand dune around it predicate the maintenance of a stable and consistent dune growth process that allows the completion of a full Pyramid. The method also describes the scientific principles of design of said structure that would allow development of sand dunes around it up to its desired height design. Moreover, the method describes the different possible pyramid designs. Finally, the paper offer evidence of the method through analysis and application of said scientific principles to the construction of the Bent Pyramid.

The Niche is the commonly used name for the large recess found in the Queen’s Chamber of the Great Pyramid. The Niche dominates the eastern wall of the chamber, rising 4.67 m high. This pyramid was more precisely oriented to the cardinal points than any other, and great care was taken to centre this chamber along its north–south axis. Thus it is of great interest that the Niche is offset two feet south of the central axis of the chamber. Had it been centred, then the Niche would have marked the centre of the pyramid. From an architectural point of view, this offset is very interesting, because it was clearly done on purpose. Various explanations have been forwarded regarding the reason for this displacement, which disrupts the mathematical harmony of the pyramid. In this article I show a mathematical correlation between the offset of the Niche and the offset of the King’s Chamber, raising the possibility that the southerly offset of the Niche predicts that of the King’s Chamber.
