Climate change, sustainability issues, increased risks of meat diet on both ecology and human health cause changes in the eating habits of individuals. Plant-based foods supply protein sources with health-promoting compounds. The bitterness of plant-based foods is a challenge for both food manufacturers and consumers. So far, artificial taste blockers, salt, sugar, and fat have been applied to mask the bitterness of plant-based products. However, people are conscious of "clean labelling " and "natural " ingredients in foods. Thus, natural taste blockers are the new trend for vegan food manufacturing to mask bitterness. The review focuses on providing information about natural salt, sugar and fat replacers for foods as taste blockers of bitterness. The study highlights the recent natural taste blockers, application trends, and regulations for food processing.

The defence forces of every country play a pivotal role in safeguarding the Nation in various ways. Just like any other soldier, the soldiers of the Sikkim Armed Police (SAP) also performs this job giving all that it takes. Hence keeping a track of the health and wellbeing of these elite forces is the key. This study examined the effects of a 6-month intervention on the health and wellbeing of the 200 SAP personnel (160 participants were put in the study group and 40 participants were put into control groups), which combined lifestyle modification and increasing proper physical training. It was noted that within a 6-month time there were significant changes in the personnel's health and wellbeing (study group) when they started to move towards a healthier lifestyle and included more hours of physical training in their daily routine. All these contributed to a positive outcome like controlling the contributors of the metabolic syndrome-including blood pressure and the blood sugar level.

Nutrition has an essential impact on life culture. As a result, the most effective way for societies to be healthy and productive is to provide healthy nutrition practices for children at home and in educational settings. One of the topics stressed in the combat against COVID-19 is the use of healthy foods and beverages that improve the immune system in all age groups, including youngsters, because nutrition helps to improve their immune systems, which are not as strong as the adults. Due to restrictions placed on the spread of the pandemic, as well as the inability of school-aged children to benefit from nutrition programs due to the closure of educational institutions, children's food choices have weakened. Children's nutrition should be made healthy not just in educational surroundings but also in the communities where they reside, for example through street children's soup kitchens, to repair the unhealthy pandemic process. However, one of the most difficult subjects for dietitians is improving the diversity of food consumption among the new generation.

Consuming junk food is increasing in a very rapid way nowadays. Junk food represents food which is quickly prepared and eaten outside the home. This type of food is easily and quickly prepared, however, it refers mainly to the food that is prepared from precooked or preheated ingredients then packed and sold in stores or restaurants. The adolescents prefer to have junk food rather homemade cooked food, because it is available readily, in their ngertips (online), and it is been served quickly, tasty and deliciously prepared were available within fraction of seconds. Therefore the youngsters are fond of junk food consumption without knowing its impact on health. The present study attempted to know the perception on junk food consumption among college students in Mysore city. The convenient sampling method was adopted to collect data from six colleges covering 128 students. Descriptive research design has been chosen to examine the knowledge and perception on junk food. In the result it is found that 93% respondents prefer to consume junk food, 64% respondents preferred evening, and 74% respondents favoured street food.
