This research aims to examine about using mobile application as self-directed learning tool for learning Chinese. We chose Manga-Mandarin mobile application as the learning source. The participants were Bina Nusantara University students from different majors and joined in this research voluntary. As the facilitators we provided the learning plan in three weeks length of study. We interviewed the participants to gather the data about how the process of their self-directed learning and their experiences using the mobile application. We found out that all of the participants had completed the self-directed learning process and most of the participants were aligned with Garrison self-directed learning three dimensions, self- management, self-monitoring, and motivation. Most of the participants also felt using mobile application to self-learning Chinese was a valuable experience.

Indonesian secondary school students need help in gaining new languages. Indonesian students find learning English as a new language is difficult due to the need for English vocabulary. By looking at that problem, the Indonesian Ministry of Education emphasizes integrating technology into the learning process. The integration of technology, especially mobile applications, suits with K-13 and Merdeka curriculum. In this way, teenagers like implementing new technology in their learning process. The integration of the Cake application is one of the mobile applications to implement in language classrooms due to its benefits. Therefore, this study is a systematic literature review to find the integration of MALL, especially the Cake Application, in improving students' learning motivation and vocabulary mastery. Around 19 out of 74 studies were selected by using the PRISMA model to support this study. The results show that Cake Application can facilitate students in gaining new vocabulary and increasing their learning motivation. Therefore, the Cake application is the new suggestion for teachers to access students' vocabulary needs.

The current research investigates the effectiveness of a program based on integrating instructional scaffolding interaction cycle into dialogic teaching in developing Faculty of Education sophomores’ EFL listening and speaking skills. The participants of the research comprised seventy-six students. They were drawn randomly from second year students enrolled in the Faculty of Education, Menoufia university. The participants were divided into two groups; experimental (38) and control (38). The research adopted the quasi-experimental pre-posttest design. The experimental group received instruction based on integrating instructional scaffolding interaction cycle into dialogic teaching, while the control group received regular instruction. The instruments included EFL listening and speaking skills preposttests and a rubric for scoring the speaking test. The findings revealed that using a program based on integrating instructional scaffolding interaction cycle into dialogic teaching positively affected Faculty of Education sophomores’ EFL listening and speaking
