... In developing countries, community-based health management is feasible. 97 In countries such as the UK, 58,60 the focus on providing home-based services is more prominent, with more home exercise, home environment assessment, and modification so that older people with low vision in everyone's community can access rehabilitation services and reduce the incidence of falls. However, the cost of such training is usually not reimbursable by Medicare or private insurance in the USA. ...

Background The incidence of visual impairment(VI) in older people is gradually increasing. This review aimed to summarise the evidence on existing health management models and strategies for older adults with VI to improve health-related and vision-related quality of life (QoL) in older people. Methods Based on the framework of the scoping review methodology of Arksey and O’Malley (2005), a comprehensive literature search of relevant literature published between January 2010 and June 2022 in PubMed, CINAHL, EMBASE, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, CNKI, VIP, Wanfang database, Sinomed and the grey literature. Results Finally, 31 articles were included. The health management model had a multidisciplinary team low vision rehabilitation model, medical consortium two-way management model, low vision community comprehensive rehabilitation model, medical consortium-family contract service model, screening-referral-follow-up model, and three-level low vision care model. The health management strategy covers nine aspects, the combination of multi-element strategies is feasible, and network information technology has also shown positive results. Conclusion In the future, under the Internet and hierarchical management model, we should provide demand-based personalized support to rationalize and scientifically achieve hierarchical management and improve resource utilization efficiency and eye health outcomes.

... In countries such as South Africa, the CBR is designed based on the Kaplan organizational framework for the community in order to increase organizational capacity (15,16). Community-based nursing is also used to promote the independence of people with disability through assisted living programs (38)(39)(40). Rehabilitation services have been expanded from medical rehabilitation to other aspects of rehabilitation. Figure 1 provides a summary of diversity in rehabilitation services in different countries. ...

Background: The main objective of this study was to review the goals and programs of rehabilitative care in different countries to achieve a framework for a national operational plan for expanding rehabilitation services in Iran. Methods: In this qualitative study (scoping review), national rehabilitation documents were reviewed in a selected list of countries. We searched several databases including Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar and main website such as WHO. Then, the review results were presented to a panel of experts to receive their feedback and opinion for a framework of national rehabilitation policy and strategies in Iran. Results: In the preliminary phase, 1775 documents were found and 17 documents were selected from Asia, Europe, three islands near Australia, America, and Australia continents. National policies and programs regarding rehabilitation could be categorized in three fields: 1) Removing the barriers to access rehabilitative health services, 2) strengthening and improving rehabilitation, relevant appropriate technologies, Supportive Services, and Community Based Rehabilitation, and 3) Collecting international data on social support and improving the quality of research and services related to rehabilitation. Conclusion: To achieve a successful national rehabilitation framework in any country, it is required to strengthen information and research database, implement annual monitoring of policymaking, assess the next year rehabilitation needs of society, finding causes of disabilities for effective planning.

Several standard works in Sweden from the period 2000–2017 have been focused on converting visionary welfare political goals into down-to-earth-oriented guidelines for subsequent realization and implementation. The present paper is focused on the conversion of general welfare goals into standards that apply to areas that require a trans-disciplinary approach to address accessibility issues in built environment, services and transportation. The study suggests that standardization with a design for all perspective becomes an interpretive work in which words and phrases are contemplated in relation to the ethical stance of the national disability policy. This framework is situated at the very interface between real-life settings and visionary thinking. Consequently, participants in standardization works revolving around design for all activate several individual knowledge fields of ethical, ideological, practical and theoretical nature. In communal discussions between the participants, the development of standards proceeds through an analytical work that is like an iterative creative process that uses concepts, phrases and words as instruments. The overall conclusion is that standardization with a design for all approach has left the strict focus on products and started to target the design process in view of a built environment, products or services that are centered on the fit between the design and a wide range of human abilities.
