The user experience (UX) in educational settings is crucial, extending beyond academic performance to encompass students’ perceptions and responses to teaching methods. Blended learning (BL), integrating online and face-to-face components, including flipped learning (FL), enhances engagement through platforms like the HTML5 package (H5P). Despite these advancements, guidelines for designing and evaluating online learning experiences with H5P are lacking. This paper aims to address this gap by providing recommendations for H5P integration and a methodology for assessing student learning experiences. Key contributions include positioning H5P among comparable tools, offering a detailed process for leveraging H5P, and emphasizing the need for effective assessment methods. The case study, conducted in a master’s thesis methodological seminar, involved two rounds of user testing, revealing insights into student preferences and needs. Findings suggest students prioritize content and usability over attractiveness and value H5P interactive features. Future work should replicate this case study with other teaching units, e-learning technologies, or other student groups.

In today’s complex labor market, social sciences graduates encounter various challenges and negative experiences in their current jobs and job transitions, which may threaten the sustainability of their careers. Possessing 21st-century skills is considered important in supporting their career sustainability. Employing a cross-sectional survey design, this study investigated which 21st-century skills help social sciences graduates build a sustainable career after their graduation. The sample consisted of 129 early-career social sciences graduates. We utilized both a variable-centered (path analysis) and a person-centered (latent profile) approach to data analysis. The path-analysis results showed that collaboration, creativity, and problem solving, but not communication and critical thinking, related to career sustainability. The results also revealed a suppressor effect of problem solving on the positive relationships between creativity and health-related problems, suggesting that problem solving may prevent creative individuals from developing health-related issues. Furthermore, latent-profile analysis demonstrated two profiles: sustainable and non-sustainable careers. While both profiles exhibited similar productivity levels, individuals from the non-sustainable profile reported lower happiness and higher health problems. Partly corroborating the path-analysis results, graduates with sustainable careers differed in communication and collaboration skills. This study enhances the understanding of 21st-century skills’ role in career sustainability and validates the model of sustainable careers.

In response to the global imperative for sustainable energy, understanding the determinants of investments in sustainable utilities becomes crucial. This study focuses on exploring these factors in the context of Mongolia, covering the years 1980 to 2021 and utilizing the autoregressive distributed lag technique. Findings reveal that an increase in the consumer price index has a detrimental impact on investment. Interestingly, the development of information and communication technology shows limited influence on sustainable utilities investments in Mongolia. Conversely, larger economies exhibit a positive correlation, suggesting that they foster more substantial investments in sustainable utilities. Notably, economic risk emerges as a significant factor, negatively affecting investment. This underscores the importance of providing a stable and predictable investment environment. In light of these findings, practical policy recommendations for Mongolia include strategies such as digitalization, the establishment of green financing mechanisms, and the encouragement of public–private partnerships.

Students are central actors at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Whereas much can be achieved by the active participation of students in sustainability affairs, it is unclear what is the current level of students’ knowledge and engagement regarding the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) around the world, as well as which initiatives are being undertaken by HEIs on this matter. In order to address this research gap, this study investigated the current status of students’ knowledge and participation in initiatives aimed at the implementation of the UN SDGs. A comprehensive research methodology was carried out by means of a bibliometric analysis, case studies, and a survey involving a sample of 602 students from 53 countries. For the bibliometric analysis, data were analysed with the support of the VOSviewer software, while quantitative data analysis was performed with the support of IBM SPSS Statistics. The study shows that the participation of students in SDGs activities is associated with the commitment level of the HEIs to the implementation of the SDGs. In addition, the fact that students have taken a course or have a discipline related to the SDGs, plays a significant role in the SDGs implementation process. Moreover, the findings reveal that graduate students are more familiar with the SDGs than their undergraduate peers. The analysed HEIs case studies also demonstrate the commitment to sustainable development (SD) through different initiatives being pursued at different levels and scopes. Based on the results, the study provides recommendations on a set of specific measures that may be implemented to increase HEIs students’ interest and engagement in SD.

Organisations throughout the world are founded to remain in existence forever. This is particularly typical of incorporated businesses, which are primarily distinguished by their eternal life. Few studies on succession planning have focused on small and medium-sized companies, with less emphasis paid to larger businesses, especially foreign-backed businesses as seen in the gaming industry. As a result, there is a knowledge gap in succession-planning lingo. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of succession planning on the sustainability of gaming enterprises in Nigeria. For this paper, a survey design was used. The study's population was 434 employees of gaming enterprises located in Lagos. Yamane's (1967) sampling algorithm was used to pick a representative sample from the general community, and primary data was collected using a structured questionnaire tailored to the study and validated. The Cronbach's alpha coefficients for the questionnaire varied from 0.850 to 0.775, with a rate of acceptance of 92.20%, and the data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. According to the data analysis, succession planning had a significant effect on gaming business sustainability (R= 0.833a, R2 = 0.693, Adj. R2 = 0.691, F (298.475); p.000. Among the predictors, Career Development has a substantial impact, with a coefficient of 0.612 and a high level of statistical significance (p = 0.000), indicating that for each unit increase in Career Development, Business Profitability is expected to increase by 0.612 units. Similarly, Strategic Staffing and Performance Management Systems also show significant positive effects on Business Profitability, with coefficients of 0.089 (p = 0.001) and 0.222 (p = 0.000) respectively. These findings suggest that improvements in Career Development, Strategic Staffing, and Performance Management Systems are associated with higher Business Profitability. The researcher suggests that succession planning is crucial for the sustainability of gaming companies, ensuring adequate career progression and development for employees.
