Currently, online maps are of the most innovative and significant sources of information in people's daily life. However, quality assessment of volunteered geographic information (VGI) data raises some challenges. This research aims to analyze the VGI participants' level of expertise through evaluation of their background information. Towards this goal, an android application was developed to test users' knowledge and cognition about some selected regions of city as well as their background information. In order to evaluate the quality of information expressed by participants, some changes were made in Tehran's online map, and users were asked to identify the changes and to guess the vanished attributes. Statistical and ANN approaches were applied for analysis. The results demonstrated that the ANN was able to predict the percentage of correct answers of a new volunteer with mean squared error of 0.2. This research suggests that users' age and familiarity with the specific region in the city play more significant roles in their expertise in using online maps and in probable participating in VGI.

The concept of proximity in planning requires the attention of scholars and decision-makers to the issue of accessibility to services within a walking distance, as part of the more general effort to make cities more resilient, sustainable, and healthy. From an operational side, rethinking cities according to the paradigm of proximity and accessibility to services on foot implies the need for time-based methodologies that can identify the areas that can be reached within a given time interval. These methodologies often use GIS network analy-sis tools, but can require long analysis times and high financial costs for software. This contribution proposes an indicator of walking accessibility to facilities that is simple, quick to compute, and built using free and open-source tools such as QGIS and Openrouteservice, in order to allow its broad replicability on different contexts. The indicator was successfully tested in the city of Novara, Italy, using the 5-, 10- and 15-min isochrones, identifying the areas from which all the selected facilities can be reached within this time interval.KeywordsOpenrouteservice15-min CityChrono-urbanismGIS

The potential of intrinsic parameters to estimate geospatial data quality on Voluntary Geographic Information (VGI) platforms is a recurrent theme in Cartography. The spatial-temporal distribution in these platforms is very heterogeneous, depending on several factors such as input availability, number, and motivation of volunteers, especially in developing countries. The most recent approaches have been aiming to detail temporal patterns as an additional measure of quality in VGI. This research proposes a methodology to identify and analyze the behavior of the contribution parameters over time (2007-2022) of the OSM platform and differentiates the influences that affect its growth. Part of the Metropolitan region of Curitiba was the study area, subdivided into 1 x 1 km cells. The cumulative growth of contributions was calculated and later adjusted using a Logistic Regression. The obtained parameters made it possible to identify abruptly growing cells caused by external data import, mass contributions, or collective mapping activities. In addition, heterogeneity in the growth of the data available in OSM over time was evident. Furthermore, the proposed methodology promoted the investigation of a new indicator of intrinsic quality based on modelling the spatiotemporal evolution of OSM feature insertions.
