Another research conducted at Dharma Wacana College stated that the blueprint of information systems is useful as a foundation for the development of better overall information systems in the university's business process (Utomo & Wellem, 2013). The research was conducted using Enterprise Architecture Planning method. ...

The rapid and dynamic development of information technology in today's digital era has a significant impact on organizations in managing information and data. This also applies to universities that need to optimize data and information management in order to improve service quality and organizational performance. Therefore, it is necessary to design an appropriate and integrated strategic information system, which is able to support the decision-making process effectively and efficiently, as well as integrate various functions and processes in various organizational units on campus. Enterprise is a set of organizations that have several general goals / principles and / or a baseline. Higher education is one of the enterprises engaged in education. The increasing need for data and information in business functions carried out by a university is one of the drivers of the use of information systems in universities. Therefore, in this study will be designed on 3 (three) architectural models, namely data architecture, architecture, applications and technology architectures using the Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) method.
... But 0n the 0thers hand, the new pr0blems c0me and need t0 be s0lved. Fr0m [26] study, the pr0blems are increased administrative pr0cesses, insufficient m0bility access, and unavailability 0f access f0r parents and industry. They have f0und that academic information system (AIS) can be a solution but suggested to find the most suitable model as a guide to transforming the AIS in supporting the characteristics of Education 3.0. ...
... The implementation of blended learning in HEIs can cause administrative problems. [26] found that lecturers have to allocate an extra time to prepare the final reports, because they must join the result from electronic and paper based grades. This can make the submission of the final reports late and affected to institutions performance. ...

The implementation of Education 3.0 in educational institutions, mainly in higher education institutions (HEIs) has been growing from day to day. The implementation of Education 3.0 has brought the institution towards better education. But on the other hand, the implementation also gives new problems to the institution. The problems are increased administrative processes, insufficient mobility access, and unavailability of access for parents and industry. The problems can be solved by using ICT tools that have been used in many educational institutions called academic information system (AIS). AIS can be used as a way out to overcome the problems mentioned above. To be used in support the Education 3.0, AIS must be transformed in accordance with the needs of Education 3.0. In the process of transforming an information system, a model is needed as a guide. This paper will discuss three models namely model-driven architecture (MDA), service-oriented architecture (SOA) and substitution-augmentation-modification-redefinition (SAMR) to find out which model best suits the characteristics of Education 3.0. At the end of the discussion, it can be concluded that SAMR is best suited to Education 3.0 characteristics.

Most of modeling in information system used case study. The academic information system also can use the case study method. In a higher education institution who has implemented the Education 3.0 concept, the modeling of academic information system must be combined the method with a suitable framework with Education 3.0 concept. This research will propose the most suitable research framework for modeling of academic information system in higher education institution who has implemented Education 3.0 concept.
... However, because those applications are separated from AIS, the evaluation results can not automatically showed in AIS [9]. Teacher/lecturer must input it manually into AIS because most of the HEIs just developed AIS for academic administrative purpose [10]. A study by [9] suggested to integrating AIS and e-learning to simplification processes between both of them. ...
... A study by [10] also mentioned about AIS changes. They created a model to synchronize business process in academic affairs and AIS. ...

Academic information system (AIS) was used by many higher education institutions (HEIs) to help in manage their academic affairs. Most of AIS used only for administrative purposes. With the emergence of Education 3.0 paradigm, the AIS must be support its characteristics. Education 3.0 characteristics involve learning and administrative purposes. Based on previous related studies, this research found that AIS must support learning purpose by integrating existing AIS with e-learning. The AIS also must support parents and industry involvement. To accommodate all new features above, the existing AIS must transform by following certain guide. A model needs to guide the transformation and Substitution Augmentation Modification Redefinition (SAMR) framework can be used for modeling.
... However, because those applications are separated from the AIS, the evaluation results can not automatically show in the AIS [6]. The lecturer must key in it manually into the AIS because most of the HEIs just developed the AIS for the academic administrative purpose [7]. The whole characteristics of Education 3.0 can see in Table 1. ...

The emergence of Education 3.0 as a new paradigm in education has been spread widely in many educational institutions, especially in higher education institutions (HEIs). Many of them have been implementing the new paradigm and get benefit from it. But somehow, the implementation caused some problems. The new policy and procedures are causing administrative problems, especially in the academic affair. The implementation also needs to provide external involvement. To overcome the problems, the academic information system (AIS) can be used to support the characteristics of Education 3.0. The purpose of the research is to find the possibility support from the AIS to the characteristics of Education 3.0. The research used Education 3.0 concept and information system (IS) concept to find the possibility. The research used a case study as the method and conducted a qualitative research with an unstructured interview. After comparing the Education 3.0 concept and IS concept with the interview analysis, the research found that all the characteristics of Education 3.0 can possibly support by the AIS. The result can be used as a guideline to develop the new AIS with the capability to support the characteristics of Education 3.0.
