... mature female Branchinecta were collected from sites that range from those typical for B. sandiegonensis or B. lindahli in southern California, USA, to disturbed sites in which apparent intermediates had been seen or were suspected (Fig. 1, Table 1). Branchinecta sandiegonensis was collected from vernal pools at the Del Mar Mesa Reserve (California Department of Fish and Game) and McAuliffe Park (City of San Diego School District).
