... the last years, România has suffered from the effects of global climate change, increased periods of drought, desertification, as well as declining of water resource availability. According to the National Management Plan for the period 2016-2021, the hydrographic basin of Prut River, from which Iași is part of (Figure 1), was identified to have a potential water resource deficit and a risk to drought, having, as major challenge, the need to find alternative water sources, to help mitigate the deficit water problem.
