Marital satisfaction is one of the most important factors for achieving a happy family. This study aimed to examine the relationship between gratitude and marital satisfaction in infertile spouses . This study involves 44 samples of spouses who have been married for at least one year and have not had children in Kediri, East Java. The research was conducted by using convenience sampling technique. The data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires in the form of scales. There were two types of scales used in the data collection process: the scale of marital satisfaction and the scale of gratitude. The data were analyzed by using correlation technique. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that gratitude had a positive correlation with marital satisfaction with r = 0, 489; p = 0,001 meaning that the higher the gratitude of an infertile couple, the higher their marital satisfaction is.

This article presents the results of research into religiosity and understanding of marriage among a selected group of young Catholics, all of whom are current students or graduates of Shalom Center in Mitunguu, Kenya. The goal of our study was to determine the correlations between the two variables so as to reach some conclusions and suggestions for religious education and pastoral care. The research made use of Stefan Huber’s Centrality of Religiosity Scale, while the respondents’ understanding of marriage was analyzed with the use of a questionnaire prepared by the authors of this study. As our research shows, one’s Catholic understanding of marriage increases alongside an increase in interest in religiosity and in one’s religious convictions, while it does not correlate—or does so only weakly—with a centrality of religiosity. Correlations with centrality occurred more often among men than among women. Mutual connections were most frequent among the youngest group of respondents, those who were up to 20 years of age and current students. This may indicate that religious formation and education of youth in the Shalom Center exerts a clear impact on shaping Catholic views on marriage. With the passing of time, traditional cultural precepts seem to gain prominence among the graduates.

Background and Aim: The present study was conducted with the aim of predicting marital commitment based on Internal religious orientation with the mediation of sexual satisfaction and self-control. Methods: The research method was correlational and structural equations type. The statistical population is all women who referred to counseling centers and health homes in Tehran in 2020-21 and 380 people were selected as a sample using a simple random sampling method. The data collection tool was Adams and Jones' Marital Commitment Questionnaire (1997), Allport Religious Orientation Questionnaire (1950), Larson et al.'s Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire (1998), and Tanji et al.'s Self-Control Questionnaire (2004). For data analysis, structural equation modeling was used using AMOS 14 and SPSS 24 software. Results: The results showed that the direct effect of Internal religious orientation on sexual satisfaction (β=-0.31), self-control (β=-0.40) and marital commitment (β=-0.28) is significant. The direct effect of sexual satisfaction on marital commitment (β=0.17) and self-control on marital commitment (β=0.64) is also positive and significant. Meanwhile, self-control can play a mediating role in the relationship between Internal religious orientation and marital commitment (P≥0.001). Conclusion: Internal religious orientation, communication patterns, sexual satisfaction and self-control, if formed in positive and efficient dimensions, can increase and maintain couples' commitments.
