Existing approaches to the analysis of countries economic integration processes in international practice are investigated in the paper. Evaluating methodology of the long-term integration processes in the electric power sector is offered for the EAEU countries in three scenarios: high, low and medium, based on the synergy of various economic and mathematical methods. The actual methodology is formed in accordance with special macroeconomic scenario conditions and includes the final energy consumption forecast with division by the types of energy sources in the context of consumers categories of the EAEU countries based on generated scenario conditions using econometric methods (growth curves, Cobb-Douglas production function, regression analysis, simulation methods), as well as the development forecast of electric power industry concerning the EAEU countries reasoning from perspective dynamics of generating capacities of these countries. Project growth of electric power sector development founded on suggested method was made for the EAEU countries for the period of 2018-2040, specifically, electricity consumption projection, electricity consumption increasing, as well as capacity increasing of NPGS, HEP and RER in these countries. The necessity of further efforts to develop the common electric power market in the EAEU countries in order to obtain possible long-term integration effects are emphasized. Keywords: International Economic Integration, Electric Power Market Development, Electric Power Integration, The Eurasian Economic UnionJEL Classifications: F02, F63, O13DOI: https://doi.org/10.32479/ijeep.9154

The quantitative assessment of the degree of company’s diversification as the basis of strategic planning becomes relevant in the context of instability of world oil prices. The largest companies of the oil and gas industry develop their strategies taking into account diversification of both activities and sales markets. The need for diversification is confirmed by the carried-on qualitative analysis of the activities of Russian and foreign companies in the oil and gas industry. The authors propose indicators of quantitative assessment of the degree of diversification, which can be applicable for companies of the energy sector: entropy index and indicator of geographical diversification. The study concluded that it is advisable to use the entropy indicator of diversification for strategic planning due to the need to optimize activities; focus on the production of high value-added products; relevance of risk reduction in case of instability of world energy prices volatility; strengthening the position of a multi-industry company. An indicator of geographic diversification may be used when there is a necessity of market control; access to new markets; strengthening positions in current markets. The practical application of the results of this study is possible in the field of strategic planning for oil and gas upstream companies. Keywords: Russian Oil and Gas Upstream Companies, Diversification, Indicators of Diversification, Geographical Diversification, Energy Companies, Entropy IndexJEL Classifications: Q32, L25, Q35DOI: https://doi.org/10.32479/ijeep.9194
... To create an effective risk management system for innovative projects, individual authors ( [6], [7]) also recommend the creation of an informational base that stores information about risks identified at the planning stage of the project and their real occurrence, about measures taken to reduce and eliminate risks and their effectiveness, the costs incurred for anti-risk activities, and the losses averted. Despite the fact that the dynamic nature of the risks of the innovation project was pointed out, such a base can become one of the most important tools for making decisions in the field of risk management for enterprises implementing innovative projects, including ones in the field of energy supply to remote consumers. ...

The problem of the traditional energy resources exhaustion which is also arising in the process of their exploitation as a factor of the environmental degradation is observed in the paper. The authors have analyzed the possibility of using alternative raw materials based on recycled plant biomaterials as renewable substitutes for energy sources. According to analytical data, it is shown that the biofuel demand as an alternative form of energy meets regulatory requirements that impose restrictions on the sulfur emission rate to the environment which are built up in the result of traditional combustible materials burning. The authors esteem the feasibility of all-around usage of various types of recycled biomaterials as a fuel. Within this framework, conducted study is a priority and promising direction for the world’s economy and energy, and the analysis of the main technical and economic characteristics of various types of waste biomassKeywords: Environmental safety, renewable energy sources, recycled biomaterialsJEL Classifications: Q20, Q42, F52DOI: https://doi.org/10.32479/ijeep.8511

Portfolio models can serve as an assessment tool for the optimal assignment of capital between the potential investment projects in the various conditions for upstream companies. This process is crucial for any company if it wants to balance the short-term goals and seeks to maximize long-term value of the company. The paper aims to present a practical model of forming oil upstream company’s portfolio. The unique feature of this model is an individual approach to investment plan forming in a context of three types of projects: exploration, oil production and infrastructure projects. This is due to the individual approach which is used for comparison of all projects by using of universal set of indicators. Suggested model uses the multi-criteria selection mechanism by means of aggregating the key estimating indicators into the final project rank score. In that way the task of forming investment project’s portfolio of upstream company is a linear programming problem that is solved by simplex method. In the paper the model forms consolidated investment portfolio that takes into account decision makers’ preferences in setting of limits for resources. Keywords: Simplex method, optimizing the investment, project’s ranking indicator, decision-making mechanism, optimization model, investment portfolio, upstream companyJEL Classifications: O13, L22DOI: https://doi.org/10.32479/ijeep.7965

The authors emphasized key specific features of technological cooperation under conditions of the modern world economy and analyze modern trends of the world production ties development in high and medium technological economic sectors. They generalized main trends of technological cooperation development in the light of structural changes in the world economy, innovative production process and specific features of regional labor division. It was concluded that structural changes in the world economy, an innovative production process and specific features of regional labor division formed a new location of the world production, an architecture and motivation of technological cooperation in the hi-tech and economic sectors. It was emphasized that an analysis of technological cooperation develop-ment for Russia should be performed with account of the mentioned world tendencies and special features of the national economy.

The article is providing highlights on the development prospects of the renewable energy industry in Russia from the point of view of increasing the social impact on jobs creation. The branch of renewable energy is considered as one of the directions reducing unemployment in the regions of Russia. The peculiarities of the industry development in Russia, related to the existing regulatory and legal framework and the structure of the national electric power market, are singled out. As a result of the study, methodological approaches in assessing the social effect from the development of the renewable energy industry in Russia are formulated. Also a forecast of the number of created jobs is made, taking into account the implementation of projects in the wholesale and retail electric power markets and isolated power systems. The compiled statistical and expert data allow to develop scenarios for commissioning capacities in the industry. The proposed approaches and scenarios make it possible to estimate the number of created jobs regionally and analyze the impact of these places on the level of unemployment in the regions of Russia. Regions have been identified where the development of the renewable energy sector will have a significant positive social effect. Quantitative assessment of the social effects of the industry development can help to work out mechanisms of state support for renewable energy, for performing technical and economic calculations for projects and regional programs in the field of renewable resources and energy sources. The results can be used to formulate criteria for regional competitive selection, to formulate schemes for the territorial development of the electric power industry.

The article is devoted to one of the global humanity problems-increasing drinking water shortage. The authors analyzed statistic data of Russian federal districts and emphasized the most problem regions. The authors proposed an innovative technology of renewable power sources as a way of water supply increasing; they analyzed perspectives of renewable power engineering in Russia according to solution of a fresh water shortage problem. Development of renewable power engineering was considered as one of the ways of water supply increasing. On the basis of the research the authors formulated an economic-mathematical model. The model assessed a capacity of a water condensing combined wind driven electric plant (WDEP) under the various weather conditions-An average temperature and humidity of the air. According to the model a perspective water output under the conditions of Republic of Crimea was foreseen. The authors came to the conclusion that a combined WDEP could be used for water supply in the further-flung regions, for agriculture, production and fire extinguishment.
