IoT Architecture [14] a). Sensing Layer This layer will consist of motion sensors, GPS module, bulbs, a collar and alarms. The motion sensors will be put at different locations around the homesteads and cattle pens so as to detect the presence of human around the compound at odd times. The collar will be designed in such a way that when cut a notification will be given. It will be fitted with a chip and a RFID to be used to identify animals and store information about the cattle. The GPS module will be inserted under the skin to be used to track the location of animals.

The use of the Internet of things (IoT) to develop applications to solve real time human problems has been in the increase. It involves the use of microcontrollers, sensors, actuators and communication and data management technologies to develop applications. Different applications have been developed as a result, to track animals in national parks...

Telecommunication service providers (telcos) are exposed to cyber-attacks executed by compromised IoT devices connected to their customers’ networks. Such attacks might have severe effects on the attack target, as well as the telcos themselves. To mitigate those risks, we propose a machine learning-based method that can detect specific vulnerable I...

As the internet is increasingly embedded in the everyday things in our homes, we notice a need for greater focus on the role care plays in those relationships—and therefore an opportunity to realize unseen potential in reimagining home Internet of Things (IoT). In this paper we report on our inquiry of home dwellers’ relationships to caring for the...
