Publikacja ta została pomyślana jako naukowo-dydaktyczne opracowanie, dotyczące geoinformacji w aspekcie edukacyjnym. Pierwsza część publikacji zawiera ogólną charakterystykę znaczenia i miejsca technologii oraz kompetencji geoinformacyjnych w realizacji ogólnych założeń kształcenia geograficznego, druga zaś – wprowadzenie do geoinformacji, w której przedstawiono źródła danych przestrzennych i podstawowe oprogramowanie geoinformacyjne. W trzeciej, zasadniczej części opracowania, zamieszczono 18 scenariuszy lekcji nawiązujących tematycznie do zapisów wymagań zamieszczonych w nowej podstawie programowej. Każdy scenariusz zawiera odniesienie do dokumentu podstawy programowej, cele lekcji, metody realizacji, przebieg lekcji, podsumowanie oraz przykładową pracę domową. W opracowanych koncepcjach zajęć uwzględnione zostały m.in. źródła danych, przydatne strony i przeglądarki internetowe, aplikacje WebGIS i GIS oraz wskazane warunki i możliwości wykorzystania oprogramowania QGIS. Znajdujący się na końcu przewodnika samouczek QGIS krok po kroku wraz z kilkoma scenariuszami lekcji umożliwia zainteresowanym osobom edukację w zakresie korzystania z tego programu.

Η σημερινή εποχή της τεχνολογίας προσφέρει στους/στις μαθητές/μαθήτριες τη δυνατότητα να αναζητούν και να βρίσκουν κοινωφελή καταστήματα ή δημόσιους χώρους σε χάρτες μέσα από μια πληθώρα προγραμμάτων. Η αναζήτηση και η χρήση τέτοιων προγραμμάτων φαίνεται να μην είναι ιδιαίτερα δύσκολη στους/στις μαθητές/τριες, δεδομένου ότι οι περισσότεροι/ες από αυτούς/αυτές έχουν έρθει σε επαφή με ηλεκτρονικές συσκευές από μικρή ηλικία. Επιπλέον φαίνεται να γίνεται πραγματική αξιοποίησή αυτών των εργαλείων μέσα στην τάξη. Στην παρούσα εργασία γίνεται παρουσίαση μιας σειράς εκπαιδευτικών δραστηριοτήτων με την χρήση του εργαλείου Google Maps, ώστε οι μαθητές/τριες δημοτικού σχολείου να αναπτύξουν την ικανότητα εύρεσης τοποθεσιών μέσα σε ένα χάρτη.

The article describes the importance of spatial data resources and GIS tools in environmental education. Data resources available at European and national level and possibilities of their use in education have been presented. Assessment of usefulness of these resources for environmental education objectives was made. Examples of use of spatial data in environmental education are presented.

Giving the example of postgraduate studies addressed to teachers of geography organized at the University of Warsaw, the structure and content of the course were presented. This proposal of education
for teachers, with the use of multimedia and web GIS elements, may be a didactic inspiration and a model course for other educational units.

The article presents an overview of the didactic games in a field of geographical education available mainly in the form of websites and online applications enabling interactive learning. This article contain evaluation of these games.
The article concerns the utility of traditional maps as well as different forms of geovisualization in wine tourism (enotourism). At various stages, the so-called tourist experience (stages: anticipation, planning, travel-to, on-site, travel-from and recollection), the usefulness of analogue maps and geovisualization is different. The introduction and development of the Internet makes new forms of cartographic communication more popular and mobile applications has begun to replace traditional maps.
Purpose. The article discusses the subject of new technologies in tourism, especially the issue of replacing analogue maps with various types of digital ones - webGIS applications, geo-search engines, geoportals, applications containing tourist maps and mobile applications containing interactive maps. The research aimed to find an answer to the question whether we are actually dealing with the dusk of traditional tourism cartography, or if analogue maps are still needed and used. The issue regarding the impact of the geospatial revolution on subsequent stages of activity related to the preparation and completion of a tourist trip/journey was also discussed. Method. A discussion was presented on the role of maps in tourism. The advantages and disadvantages of digital maps, both computer and mobile ones, were evaluated within the context of their use by tourists. Findings. These considerations allowed the conclusion that despite the clear decline in the sales of tourist guides and tourist maps, the widespread availability of various types of computer and mobile applications on the market, it cannot be that we are witnessing the dusk of traditional tourism cartography trying to replace printed materials. Research and conclusions limitations. The theses presented in the article require empirical confirmation on the basis of a larger number of examples. Although the work discusses the advantages and disadvantages of cartographic media within the context of their suitability for tourism, however, conducting research on small trials and the occurrence of very different conditions makes them be contributing in nature. Practical implications. The conclusions from the article form the basis for further research on the use of digital maps and mapping applications in tourism and their usefulness at every stage of a journey. Originality. The originality of the article comes down to two issues. First of all, in the Polish literature on this subject, relatively few authors confront the advantages and disadvantages of analogue maps versus digital ones. Secondly, the texts that have been published on this subject so far draw attention to the above-mentioned problem within the context of the specificity of maps intended for tourists and other maps used by them, only to a negligible extent. Type of work. Review article.
