In this paper, using a new advertising method within a virtual space, we examine a method that portrays a crowd by showing multiple people in front of institutions and stores. This method is intended to promote advertising by utilizing the behavioral psychology of users who want to agree with what many other people support. We examine how the attractiveness of the store changes due to the presence or absence of crowds in a shopping mall within a virtual space. Although there were some subjects whose store ratings were not increased due to the negative image of crowds and the unnaturalness of the crowds, the proposed method generally increased the appeal of the store and the subjects' impression of the store.

The following contribution describes work in progress within the context of the focal field of research and development remote teamwork (RT) of Vienna University of Technology (Dept. of Local Planning - IFOR), which is carried out in cooperation with the Institute for Spatial Interaction and Simulation (IRIS-ISIS), Vienna, exchanging experience with the Research Institute for Symbolic Computation (RISC Linz-Hagenberg). Research work is aimed at the elaboration of suitable collaborative remote working structures for research and project transactions, including study projects, within the context of spatial planning on the basis of ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode: a technology of broad band telecommunications). The generation and manipulation of digital spatial models and their virtual transportation within large spatial distances represent main objectives. The current subjects in urban and regional planning and in architecture act as test projects to be defined in the course of the research project in their contents and spatial context and to be represented as digital spatial working models.

Collaborative Teamwork is regarded to be one of the most outstanding fields of teaching and research within the context of Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning. This focal field is closely related to the research field of "Remote Teamwork", i.e. the substance-related cooperation of people over spatial distances in decision-situations aiming at the elaboration of suited remote-working structures for research, project transactions and teaching. The generation and manipulation of digital spatial models and their virtual transportation within large spatial distances represent the main research objectives. The Faculty of Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning therefore is stressing information technologies within academic context. The following contribution is dedicated to the description of two teaching projects, namely ?BraGraLuWi" (collaborative teamwork between the universities of Technology Bratislava, Graz, Luton and Vienna) and carrying-out a VRML-workshop, furthermore to the development of Remote Teamwork-structures preferably on the basis of ?ATM" (a technology of broad band telecommunications) at Vienna University of Technology.

A sophisticated simulator provides a cost-effective measure to carry out preliminary mission testing and diagnostic while reducing potential failures for real life at sea trials. The presented simulation framework covers three key areas: AUV modeling, sensor modeling, and environment modeling. AUV modeling mainly covers the area of AUV dynamics. Sensor modeling deals with physics and mathematical models that govern each sensor installed onto the AUV. Environment model incorporates the hydrostatic, hydrodynamics, and ocean currents that will affect the AUV in a real-time mission. Based on this designed simulation framework, custom scenarios provided by the user can be modeled and its corresponding behaviors can be observed. This paper focuses on the accuracy of the simulated data from AUV model and environmental model derived from a developed AUV test-bed which was jointly upgraded by DSTO and the University of Adelaide. The main contribution of this paper is to experimentally verify the accuracy of the proposed simulation framework.
