Four basic types of search tools Search Engines: Search Engines are computer programs designed to search web pages by using keywords. Search engines rely on computer programs called robots or spidersto compile their databases. These programs crawl across the Web by following links from site to site and indexes each website they visit. Each search engine uses its criteria and protocols to decide what to include in its database.Search engines search for quick and precise results. It is excellent in finding popular information, resources, and services. Some most famous examples of search engines are Google, Yahoo, Bing, Baidu, Yandex, Ask, Lycos, Alta Vista etc.
