The use of social media has experienced a surge in popularity globally in recent years, with a rapidly increasing rate of adoption. Retailers are experimenting with various strategies to promote their products and services to customers, taking advantage of the popularity of these websites. Nevertheless, there is significant controversy within the scholarly and practitioners regarding the main motivations of consumers purchase behavior in the social commerce (SC) setting, as well as the effective techniques that may make them a viable alternative for future business endeavors. Drawing upon value motivation theory and prior research on privacy/security in the SC setting, our study developed an integrated model to understand the impact of utilitarian value, hedonic value, perceived privacy/security, and trust at social commerce platform (SCP) on purchase intentions via social media over time. This study employed two-wave data (“T = 736 and T+1 = 601”) and used the “cross-lagged panel” technique to analyze the “longitudinal data”. The results of this study offer meaningful insights about the cause-and-effect relationship and significant effect of utilitarian value, hedonic value, and perceived privacy/security on consumer trust and purchase intentions. Furthermore, it suggests that customer trust plays a mediating role on these relationships over time. This study offers meaningful implication for theory and practice.
... Given that the minimum salary in Indonesia is just below Rp. 5,000,000, the majority of the respondents had average economic standing based on their average monthly income. Thus, Indonesian customers' utilitarian motivation may not stem from the actual process of fashion renting but rather from the expense of doing so. ...

The uprising trend of the sharing economy in accommodation and transportation brought fashion renting to the surface as another form of collaborative consumption. Fashion renting is big in developed countries. Yet, developing countries such as Indonesia are starting to see the rise of it, too, thanks to technology. This study is intended to see the factors that influence Indonesian consumers’ behaviour in fashion. In this study, the first factors that are being analysed are motivation (utilitarian motivation, hedonic motivation, and ecological motivation) and attitude toward fashion renting. Finally, it also studied if contamination moderates the attitude towards the behavioural intention to use fashion renting services. There were 100 Indonesian males and females who have used fashion renting services in the past two years. This study found a significant effect from hedonic motivation and ecological motivation to attitude towards fashion renting that later showed a significant effect towards behavioural intention in using fashion renting services. Furthermore, this study has shown no significant effect from utilitarian motivation towards attitude that might be caused by the limited variation of utilitarian studied. Additionally, this study showed contamination has no moderate impact on attitude towards behavioural intention in using fashion renting services. Keywords: attitude, behavioral intention, contamination, ecological motivation, fashion renting, hedonic motivation, utilitarian motivation

The present study intends to identify and evaluate the factors affecting the perception and readiness of young online shoppers regarding digital transactions. Thirty variables were identified through systematic literature review (SLR) that can influence consumers’ perception of digital transactions. Data were collected from 525 Millennials from north India. After performing factor analysis, five broad factors were identified namely (1) Personal Characteristics and Incentives, (2) Knowledge Technical Capability, (3) Perceived Usefulness,(4) Sense of Security, and (5) Transaction Risk, which affect the perception and intention as well as adaption of young consumers regarding the digital transactions. Using Regression Analysis, factors affecting consumer’s perception and readiness regarding digital transactions are modeled out. The study also examines the influence on intention to adopt digital transactions and the actual adaption of digital transactions. Further, the study concludes that consumer intention to make digital transactions mediates the relationship between factors of digital transactions and digital transaction adaption behavior.
