Resumo – É apresentado o tratamento taxonômico de Guapira (Nyctaginaceae) do estado da Bahia, Brasil. Foram reconhecidas 12 espécies, incluindo G. noxia e G. tomentosa, ambas registradas pela primeira vez no estado. O tratamento inclui chave de identificação, descrições, comentários, além de ilustrações e mapas de distribuição geográfica das espécies na Bahia. Abstract (Flora of Bahia: Guapira (Nyctaginaceae)) – A taxonomic treatment of Guapira (Nyctaginaceae) from the state of Bahia, Brazil, is presented. Twelve species are recognized, including G. noxia and G. tomentosa, both reported for the first time in the state. The treatment includes an identification key, descriptions and comments, as well as illustrations and geographic distribution maps of the species in Bahia.

Nyctaginaceae species occur mainly in tropical and subtropical regions of the New World, have two great centers of the first distribution in the Neotropical region and the Caribbean. The second is found in arid western North America. In Brazil, the species living in all areas of the territory phytogeografic and Rio Grande do Sul, are found in most geomorphological regions of the state, in fields, forests hills, forests shallow, rainforests and some as cultivated. The study analyzes and evaluates the geographic distribution of the family Nyctaginaceae in Rio Grande do Sul The Nyctaginaceae were the richest in the region of the Depressão Central and the Planalto das Missões was the poorest. The highest floristic similarity was observed among the regions Planalto Sul-Riograndense and Planalto das Araucárias. The taxa of this family showed four patterns of geographic distribution, defined as broad, moderately broad, restricted and very restricted.
