Reflect on the management of nursing care from the creation of images by university nursing students. Exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach carried out with twenty-four university nursing students in the state of Roraima. The strategy adopted for the production of data was the dramatic game and the findings analyzed by the content of the speeches. A table and a word cloud were produced containing the reflections and expressions on the inducing terms “care management” and “nurse”. Among the reflections related to care management are care-management inseparability, territorial planning, situational strategic planning, systematization of nursing care, leadership, human resources, material, physical, financial resources and conflict negotiation and administrative theories themselves. Regarding the nursing subject, the need for Nightingale's theoretical anchoring was highlighted to support nursing care in an evidence-based perspective. Finally, among the problems related to the role of nurses in the Unified Health System, the following were at the center of the discussion: humanistic vision, biomedical model, biopsychosocial model and education.
