In recent years, 3D fashion design has been relied on for improving attire fashion, design, and presentation with fewer flaws and better visualization. This aids consumers in providing visualized recommendations on modifications, suggestions, and customized attire designs. Considering the influence of automation and intelligent processing in the fashion designing industry, it introduces a Flaw Detection Method in 3D Representation (FDM-3DR) to reduce frequent modifications. The proposed method visualizes the design in three dimensions for its completeness and flawless representation. Based on the consumer recommendation, the lack of design flaws in the representation is identified, and multiple detections are presented. This is required to improve consumer satisfaction and the multi-dimensional projection between flaws and complete attire products. The learning is trained using the fixable representation, and therefore, the previous unsuitable designs are repelled by different recommendations. This improves the design adaptability, recommendation ratio, and representation ratio. Besides, it reduces the recommendation time and flaws.

In this paper, a traditional ethnic clothing design style model is proposed, aiming to promote the good development of clothing in artificial intelligence design. The model uses an interactive dichotomous meter algorithm for top-down information gain, differentiates sample attributes by selecting entropy values, and defines an average categorical fuzzy subset based on discrete attribute leaf node division for deep, circular arithmetic decision-making. After satisfying the clothing design evolution condition, the minimum prediction entropy value genus block is extended, and the feedback matrix random input variables are used to induce the regularized likelihood frequency classification value distribution. The results of the analysis of traditional ethnic clothing design show that there are {0, 0.5, 1} mathematical expressions on clothing design hues, the demand of clothing design value subject shows a positive state, the change of consumption wave that festival and style will bring, the knowledge value in the mean difference of clothing design orientation is as high as 0.9173 with a significant value of 0.00<0.05. Therefore, the design style of traditional ethnic clothing is not only the inheritance and promotion of national culture but also the enhancement and development of aesthetic consciousness.

This paper put forward a new interactive design approach for customized garments towards sustainable fashion using machine learning techniques, including radial basis function artificial neural network (RBF ANN), genetic algorithms (GA), probabilistic neural network (PNN), and support vector regression (SVR). First, RBF ANNs were employed to estimate the detailed human body dimensions to fulfill consumers’ ergonomics requirements. Next, the GA-based models were developed to generate the formalized design solutions following the consumer profiles (demands). Afterwards, the evaluation model was established to quantitatively characterize the relations between consumer profiles and garment profiles from the generated design solutions. The design solutions would be digitally demonstrated and recommended to the consumer following the evaluation results in descending order. Meanwhile, the PNN-based models were created to predict garment fitness based on virtual try-on. Moreover, the SVR-based self-adjustment mechanism was built to estimate and control garment design parameters according to the consumer’s feedback. Based on these mathematical models, the approach enhances the interactions among digital garment demonstration, the designer’s professional knowledge and the user’s perception to find out the most relevant design solution. The effectiveness of the new approach was verified by a real application case of leisure pants customization. The results show that the proposed method can powerfully support the designers’ quality personalized design solutions for consumers more accurately, fast, intelligently, and sustainably, compared with the existing approaches. More importantly, it also establishes an effective and reliable communication channel and mechanism among consumers, fashion designers, pattern designer, and garment producer.

Personalization in the apparel industry shows importance and the potential for demand, but the existing personalization has unreasonable time cost, labor cost, and resource waste. To solve the problems of the waste of resources as well as both time and labor cost caused by manual pattern making in clothing personalization, a method of automatic garment pattern generation based on a parametric formula and the Python language was proposed. Based on the classification of common curves in patterns, three curve fitting algorithms based on different parameters were derived and combined with the Python language to achieve personalized generation of different patterns by classifying the parameters in the system into key parameters, secondary parameters, and variable parameters. Three different methods for verifying the accuracy of the garment patterns were proposed based on curve fitting similarity and three-dimensional virtual modeling, and the accuracy of the proposed system was verified. The results show that the accuracy and comfort of the patterns generated via the system were high. Meanwhile, the Python-language-based system fits well with the production system of enterprises, which can improve the rapid response capability of garment personalization, greatly save the time cost and labor cost of enterprises, reduce resource loss, and contribute to the sustainable development of the garment industry.

Based on 3D reverse engineering and man-machine interactive technologies, this paper completed the pattern development of a straight-front robe of the Mawangdui Han Dynasty tomb and restored the straight-front robe by virtual simulation technology. Firstly, the garment contour was extracted from the straight-front robe image of the Mawangdui Han Dynasty tomb, and then the garment model was established in the 3D virtual environment. According to the style characteristics of the straight-front robe, the structural curves were drawn on the adjusted 3D robe surface, and the different curved surfaces formed by these curves were expanded to obtain 2D garment patterns. Finally, the unfolded patterns were stitched on the virtual human body to realize the digital restoration of the straight-front robe of the Mawangdui Han Dynasty tomb. Compared with the current methods of garment restoration, the method proposed in this paper not only reduces the technical requirements of pattern-making for archaeologists but also for unearthed cultural relic garments, the final pattern can be obtained without consulting a lot of data and repetitive modification of pattern, to improve efficiency and save manpower. Our proposed technology provides a new practical method for costume archaeology and restoration.

The making of patterns is the beginning of the cycle of designing garments. Pattern making is an accomplished technique requiring technical ability, flexibility for interpretation of design, and a realistic understanding of the construction of garments. It is a feature of the bridge function between design and development. This is an effective and conservative approach that can be manipulated by a technique known as flat pattern designing to construct the pattern for various types. The most frequent issues of pattern-making are following only Dart Manipulation or Added fullness or Contouring method rather than all at a time. If this practice of all methods can compare with the CAD system the output would be more accurate to resolve the issues of miss fit, imbalance, and so on. Another result of the research shows that the designs are substantially constructed without understanding that the design is based on certain concepts and structures. The principles of pattern-making consist of the three most prominent methods namely Dart Manipulation, Added fullness, and Contouring. This is essential to know for making flat patterns and alterations according to individual designs when we perceive the basic principles of pattern making and modification we produce any kind of design without affecting the original pattern size and shape thus we can meet the desired fit and balance. This study will demonstrate a way of applying three pattern-making methods to garments manually as well as in CAD. These patterns can be manipulated and changed into shapes through the slash-spread technique. The slash-spread technique is easy to understand as it clearly illustrates the changes taking place. The outcome of this study will impact the new upcoming fashion industry and also the garment industry
