The genus Robinsonia Grote, 1866 is partially reviewed following a large DNA barcode campaign. In the Robinsonia praphoea Dognin, 1906 group three new species are described: R. simulans sp. n. from French Guiana, up to now confused with R. praphoea itself and then R. decaensi sp. n. and R. maranhensis sp. n. both from the lower Amazon. R. drechseli sp. n. is described from Paraguay and R. inexpectata sp. n., a species close to R. mera (Schaus, 1910) from Costa Rica, is described as new from Peru and Bolivia. Finally the full species status is confirmed for R. flavicorpus Dognin, 1910 which is found to be differentiable from R. marginata Rothschild, 1909. All types are figured along with the male genitalia for most and some female genitalia for all studied species.

A taxonomical rearrangement of “Aemilia” pagana species-group is proposed: Leucanopsis pagana (Schaus in Proc Zool Soc London 1894:225–243, 1894) comb. nov. and L. ninae (Orfila in Rev Soc Entomol Argent 21:67–70, 1959) comb. nov. A new endemic species from Pampa de Achala, Córdoba, Argentina, closer to both species, is described: Leucanopsis navarroi sp. nov. These three species can be recognized because the color pattern is the darkest among species of Leucanopsis. Characteristics of male genitalia suggest the nomenclatural rearrangement proposed. Leucanopsis pagana comb. nov. has a wide distribution from the center of Brazil to northeastern Argentina, including southern Paraguay. The known distribution and geospatial analysis suggest that this species is not in danger. Leucanopsis ninae comb. nov. is restricted to only one known locality (Villa Gesell, Buenos Aires). The restricted known distribution, the different land use practices, and geospatial analysis suggest that this species could be endangered. Leucanopsis navarroi sp. nov. is endemic to the high plateau present in the center of Argentina called Pampa de Achala. The known distribution and geospatial analysis suggest that this species could be endangered. Further studies are necessary to determine effectively the conservation status of these three species.

A new genus, Oodoptera laguerre n. gen., is created to accommodate a new species collected in French Guiana: Oodoptera guianensis laguerre n. sp. A new species from the lower Amazon is described within the genus Phaeomolis: Phaeomolis acailandia laguerre n. sp., and two new species from S.-E. brazil are described within the genus Hypercompe: Hypercompe bahiaensis laguerre n. sp. and Hypercompe tirolensis laguerre n. sp. Finally, Epidesma similis (rothschild, 1912), presently classified within the Ctenuchina sub-tribe, is transferred to the Phaegopterina sub-tribe within a new genus: Aphymolis laguerre n. gen.
