The aim of this work is to analyze the effect of tuning screws located at the cross iris of a dual-mode vacuum filled cylindrical waveguide filter. Dual-mode waveguide filters with and without cross iris screws are designed and manufactured. Their simulation and measurement results are compared. It is clear that the bandwidth of the filter (and als...

Context 1
... Accatino, Bertin, and Mongiardo (1997), an elliptical cross-sectional waveguide with rectangular input waveguide, Figure 1, is studied. This approach leads to higher power handling capability, higher Q, and there is no need for any coupling and tuning screws by the appropriate choice of the aspect ratio of the elliptical cross section. ...
Context 2
... Figure 10, wideband responses of the cross iris screwed filter, for the same screw positions as in Figure 9, are measured. There are a wide range of spur-free bands on both sides of the passband. ...

Within a decade, the number of spacecraft requiring support from NASA's Deep Space Network (DSN) is expected to increase by a factor of 2 to 3. Key drivers behind this expectation include NASA's increasing reliance on more affordable, targeted smallsat missions, a more robust science program in general, and the emergence of multi-element human luna...

The study described the length–weight relationships (LWRs) and diversity status of fishes in the midstream of the Jialing River, which is the largest tributary of the upper Yangtze River, China. A total of 4592 specimens from 53 fish species belonging to three orders and eight families were collected from December 2021 to November 2022. The results...

This paper provides a new procedure for testing the null hypothesis of multivariate elliptical symmetry. A test for uniformity over the Stiefel mani-fold based on modified degenerate V-statistics is employed since the test statistic proposed in this paper consists of independent random matrices, formed by the scaled residuals (or the Studentized re...

Maquestiaux, Lyphout-Spitz, Ruthruff, and Arexis (2020) demonstrated that ideomotor-compatible (IM) tasks (e.g., pressing the left key when an arrow points left) can operate automatically, entirely bypassing the central bottleneck that constrains dual-task performance. But is bottleneck bypassing a specific consequence of IM compatibility or is it...

In this study, a Ka‐band dual‐mode dielectric resonator filter is studied. As a new approach, to mount the dielectric resonator on the input coupling slot, a mechanical protrusion is designed. By use of this structure, controlled source coupling and excitation via waveguide can be allowed. Compared with coaxial cable excitation, waveguide excitation allows high power handling capacity and less insertion loss.
