... the regular field surveys, as a part of major studies on the terrestrial fauna of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, we have recorded noctuid moth Saroba maculicosta Walker 1903 ( Fig. 1) and arctiid moth Barsine lineatus Walker 1855 (Fig. 2), which is the first report for these moths in India. Swinhoe (1888) and Hampson (1894b) have reported Saroba maculicosta from Ceylon in the Catalogue of Moths of India and Fauna of British India respectively.
