Configuration of GSM modem  IP SMS (Fig. 2) consists of protocols Computer Interface to Message Distribution (CIMD2) Connection (), SMPP Connection (Short Message Peer to Peer), UCP Connection Universal Computer Protocol / External Machine Interface (UCP / EMI) (Fig. 3). These protocols can be used to connect the computer directly to the Short Message Service Centre (SMSC) GSM service provider. This way, SMS messages can be sent and received via the Internet or private IP network.
