... in the pharmaceutical market is a complex combination of push and pull driven demand and regulatory and pricing pressures (Figure 1). Third parties decide on formularies that influence prescription behavior, while pharmaceutical companies use lawyers, managed care, detailing, and direct-to-consumer campaigns to influence the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), pharmacy benefit providers, doctors and patients to prolong the patent, promote on formulary, prescribe and request their products [2]. ...

The social learning mechanism used in the Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm allows this method to converge quickly. However, it can lead to catching the swarm in the local optimum. The solution to this issue may be the use of genetic operators whose random nature allows them to leave this point. The degree of use of these operators can be contr...

This paper presents a novel method for the Non-Parametric Modelling of Magneto-Rheological (MR) Dampers using Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy (NF) that incorporates a Particle Swarm Optimisation (PSO) method. In this approach, the adaptive NF method is using an adaptive Back-Propagation (BP) learning algorithm, which is used to update the weights in real-time...

Development of an expert system is difficult because of two challenges involve in it. The first one is the expert system itself is high level system and deals with knowledge, which make is difficult to handle. Second, the systems development is more art and less science; hence there are little guidelines available about the development. This paper...

The healthcare industry has been focusing efforts on optimizing inventory management procedures through the incorporation of Information and Communication Technology, in the form of tracking devices and data mining, to establish ideal inventory models. In this paper, a roadmap is developed towards a technological assessment of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the healthcare industry, 2010–2020. According to the roadmap, an IoT-based healthcare asset management system (IoT-HAMS) is proposed and developed based on Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Fuzzy Logic (FL), incorporating IoT technologies for management to optimize the supply of resources.
