This study investigated the effect of Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) and Triple Super Phosphate (TSP) as stabilization agents to immobilize various heavy metals to enhance the use of fly ash without any environmental concern. The effect for the application of stabilization agents on the strength on fly ash is also studied. First, the variou...

Currently, the hazardous potential of spent fluorescent lamps due to their mercury content, which usually exceeds the limit allowed by standards, it is well known. When these are taken out from use, mercury is distributed between all the components of the lamp; in particular, it can be found in the phosphorescent powder called “phosphor” which is a...

With the world striving to find solutions to cope with global warming, environmental pollution, energy depletion and land depletion, the utilization of recycled waste materials and industrial byproducts in geotechnical applications is inevitable. Large volumes of natural materials are used in various geotechnical applications, including roadway embankments, transportation facilities, and buried infrastructures, consuming large quantities of energy to extract and process, and producing large amounts of greenhouse gas emissions. Hence, reducing the use of such materials will help in reducing these harmful emissions. In addition, utilizing recycled waste materials in ground engineering applications can create green infrastructures and minimize the impact of their construction on the environment.
