Electromagnetic bandgap structures formed by circular posts of magnetized ferrite stacked in a rectangular waveguide is analyzed using the image theory, the lattice sums technique, and the generalized reflection and transmission matrices. The frequency response controllable by the applied magnetic field are discussed for the incidence of the fundam...

This paper presents the design of a coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed ultra wide-band circular monopole antenna for UWB communication with frequency notch characteristics. The electromagnetic coupling of the SRR with the CPW yields the frequency notch. The impedance and radiation plots confirm the suppression of the desired notch frequency. A theoretica...

Wideband electromagnetic band gap resonator antennas that can provide gains from 15 dBi in extremely small physical areas are proposed. It is shown that strongly truncated circular superstructures and ground planes with identical areas can be used to significantly improve the aperture efficiency of these antennas. An example antenna design with a m...

This paper describes the design, simulation and measurement of a slotted electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure incorporated with wideband antenna. The design is carried out on FR4 substrate of dielectric constant, ℰr=4.6 and thickness, h=1.6mm. The result from the simulation and measurement of electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure is presente...

A hybrid array configuration suitable for wideband millimeter-wave applications is presented in this work. The proposed structure is based on the use of circular waveguide elements electromagnetically coupled trough circular apertures to a stripline distribution network. The adopted excitation mechanism avoids the use of transition components gener...

A semi-analytical method to model post-wall waveguides is presented. The approach is based on the model of two-dimensional photonic crystal waveguides formed by layered periodic arrays of circular rods. The propagation constant of the fundamental TE mode and the effective waveguide width as an equivalent rectangular waveguide are analyzed using the proposed method.
