... While the benefits of strategic planning are recognized, its practical application is often challenging due to obstacles such as lack of commitment from top management, insufficient knowledge, poorly defined strategies, inadequate resource allocation, influence of corporate culture, deficiencies in teamwork, resistance to change, internal political issues and the lack of appropriate operational measures (Francisco et al., 2020). Generally, continuous improvement occurs in companies through practices such as committed leadership, organization of improvement teams and problem-solving using simple brainstorming tools such as the 5W2H tool during the implementation period (Khan et al., 2019). The 5W2H is a tool designed to represent how the following items were defined for activities to be carried out to achieve a specific goal: what will be done (what); when it will be done (when); who will do it (who); where it will be done (where); why it will be done (why); how it will be done (how); and how much it will cost (how much) (Radicic and Petkovic, 2023). ...

Purpose This paper aims to propose a framework to assess the readiness of Brazilian small and medium service companies to use Industry 4.0 technologies to improve the efficiency of processes, reinforcing the idea that evaluating and planning the implementation is as important as the use, without the need for big investments. Design/methodology/approach The paper presents two applications on the readiness level of small and medium enterprises, with support from researchers and stakeholders. The literature seems to focus more on the maturity level than on providing a sequence of operational steps or decision support. It would lead to better implementation of I4.0 technologies in assessing the company’s readiness level to adopt them. Findings The authors analyze the relevant case studies in Brazilian small and medium service enterprises based on the proposed framework to investigate the main challenges and hardships for Industry 4.0 readiness in the current scenario and outline directions to increase their readiness for adopting key Industry 4.0 technologies. Moreover, the case studies consolidate a fundamental advantage to small and medium enterprise service: a guided implementation provides more knowledge about products, processes and I4.0 technologies, even in unsuccessful case studies. Practical implications The need was identified when studying market trends with the digital transformation provided by Industry 4.0 technologies and, in parallel, the difficulties of small and medium service companies in adapting to this new scenario. Through the proposed framework, an action plan can be drawn up with well-defined objectives, goals and activities so that the service enterprises can increase their Industry 4.0 readiness level within three months. Originality/value A relevant aspect is that this study is based on feedback from stakeholders and managers, which makes the analyses and conclusions from empirical points of view without relevant theoretical knowledge of the relationship between I4.0 technologies. Therefore, the proposed framework made it possible to diagnose the organization’s external and internal environments, allowing the ideal condition and the current situation of the companies to be compared, as argued in the Industry 4.0 readiness literature review.
... If alone, its impact is insignificant, but in the cumulative form, it can contribute significantly to firm performance (Berger, 1997). In practice, continuous improvement is vital as it offers substantial benefits such as improving financial performance (Beyhan Yasar et al., 2019;Khan et al., 2019), reducing operation costs (Bessant et al., 1994;Nardella et al., 1995), upgrading product and service quality (Bessant et al., 1994;Gr€ utter et al., 2002;Oprime et al., 2012;Godinho Filho and Uzsoy, 2014), enhancing productivity (Gr€ utter et al., 2002;Oprime et al., 2012;Godinho Filho and Uzsoy, 2014) and improving the level of customer satisfaction (Koval et al., 2018). Due to the above benefits, businesses are pursuing a continuous improvement strategy (Singh and Singh, 2015) and seeking to enhance continuous improvement effectiveness. ...

Significant changes have occurred in the industrial sector, including the adoption of Japanese management ideas such as waste reduction, quality manufacturing, employee participation, and continuous development. This change is a result of heightened competition among businesses, which makes it necessary to look for novel accounting ideas in order to adapt to changing client demands and obtain a competitive edge. The study at hand aimed to identify the availability of necessary requirements to apply lean accounting in industrial companies in Lebanon. The researchers identified two types of components, administrative and procedural. The researchers conducted a five-point Likert style questionnaire suitable to the subject and objectives of the study, and a random sample of 400 LCPA’s was selected and the questionnaires were distributed among them. The sum of 389 questionnaires were retrieved, and all were valid for testing. The descriptive analytical approach was used to describe the variables of the study and analyze them. To test the hypotheses and analyze the data, the SPSS statistical program was used. The researchers hypothesize that industrial companies in Lebanon have the administrative capabilities to implement lean accounting. The study concluded that the industrial companies in Lebanon have the administrative and procedural requirements to apply lean accounting.

Purpose: The main aim of the investigation was to ascertain how financing decisions affect the financial success of manufacturing companies listed on Kenya's Nairobi Securities Exchange. Materials and Methods: This study's methodology was a descriptive research plan. Ten manufacturing companies are listed on the NSE. 10 manufacturing organizations that were listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange in Kenya as of December 31, 2021, made up the study's population. Because they have regularly been listed at NSE since 2012 without skipping a year, the 10 firms were targeted. The companies that are not listed in any given year between 2012 and 2021 was not taken into account by the study. Therefore, the study involved all 10 manufacturing companies. Since every company was listed throughout the time of this study, none was omitted. The researcher uses a document review checklist during the data collection to gather secondary information for use in compiling and analyzing the financial statements. Panel data made up of time series and cross sections was considered secondary data. The data that was collected was between 2012 and 2021. Findings: Outcomes depicted that liquidity decision had a satisfactory and important effect on financial success (β= 0.088, p=0.003). Outcomes depicted that dividend decision had a satisfactory and important consequence on financial success (β= 0.073, p=0.032). In addition, outcomes depicted that investment decision had a satisfactory and important consequence on financial success (β= 0.021, p=0.002). A strong dividend policy that may increase manufacturing companies' levels of return on assets and draw in investors should be in place for those listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange. Implications to Theory, Practice and Policy: The report suggested that in order to increase their income base, companies listed on the NSE that are in the manufacturing and related sectors should invest in product diversification strategies. Since the financial success of manufacturing enterprises is directly impacted by investment decisions. Subsidies for manufactured goods should be taken into account by the Kenyan government as a policy through the yearly budget proclamations. It is recommended that managers closely monitor the firm's liquidity, take on projects with positive net present values, and generate cash flow to support their investment and operational endeavors.

The growing complexity of the competitive context imposes on organizations the necessary to make effective decisions in a short time. Consequently, the organization must make decisions on an ever-increasing volume of data and information to increase their competitive advantage. For this reason, the decision- making process must be supported by new tools capable of facilitating and time reduction the knowledge transfer. The public administrations are a particular and very emblematic case. Indeed, public administrations are characterized as bureaucratic organizations with lengthy, often ineffective decision-making processes. The main consequence is a loss of value for the reference community. Hence, improving decision-making in public administrations can have a direct impact on society. On this wise, knowledge visualization by transforming knowledge into different visual tools (e.g., images, tables, graphs, knowledge maps, etc.) can support the decision-making process, speeding up the knowledge transfer process. A growing field of studies is focusing on the knowledge visualization, and on tools to support the decision-making process. The knowledge visualization in complex organizations appears to be a subject that has not yet been fully explored. The objective of this study is to understand the impact that knowledge visualization has on the decision-making process in public administration. Patient satisfaction with prompt and high-quality healthcare services plays a pivotal role in healthcare settings. The delivery of high-quality services within the healthcare sector is closely associated with continuous quality improvement (CQI), which is an incremental and progressive process that prioritizes the safety of all participants, favorable outcomes, systematic processes, and a regulated and improved working environment, particularly in later stages. Surprisingly, these aspects are less frequently explored in Middle Eastern countries. Thus, this research paper aims to assess the impact of quality services on patient satisfaction in tertiary care clinics located in the Middle East. To improve the quality of services in our clinic, we employed patient feedback as a valuable resource. We proactively reached out to all patients who had visited our hospital via mobile phone messages and requested their feedback on the services they received. Approximately 5% of all visitors responded and completed a comprehensive questionnaire. The majority of respondents expressed satisfaction with the services provided across various departments. However, they also offered valuable suggestions that helped us identify further areas for improvement and enhance the overall patient experience within our clinic. Drawing upon the feedback received, we meticulously considered the identified issues, redesigned our policies, and implemented strategic changes. Following the implementation of these new approaches, we once again sought patients’ feedback on the quality of our services. Patient feedback highlighted the significant impact of optimized service delivery methods, resulting in a substantial increase in patient satisfaction. Overall, this study sheds light on the vital factors that can enhance patients’ experience in outpatient clinics, emphasizing the importance of integrating patient feedback into continuous quality improvement initiatives. By utilizing this approach, healthcare providers, administrators, and researchers can effectively improve service quality and patient satisfaction. Consequently, this research paper serves as a valuable reference for public health stakeholders, administrators, and researchers in their pursuit of delivering exceptional healthcare experiences.
