... example, a canopy height can be estimated by subtracting the bare-Earth surface DEM from the first-return DSM (see Figure 19). This product could then be colorized based on a number of classifications to match each of the three vegetation layers (see Figure 20), i.e. 1-6 feet for low vegetation (light green), 6-15 feet for medium vegetation (medium green), and greater than 15 feet for high vegetation (dark green).
