We undertook an evaluation of the physical and chemical quality of soil characteristics, micro- and macroscopic features of morphology, distribution, and mycorrhizal relationships of Terfezia boudieri Chatin. The topsoil was found to be 54.73% sand, 21.97% clay, 23.30% dust, 45.27% dust-clay, 0.126% nitrogen, 1.848% organic matter, and 3.78% total lime. Investigations revealed that the soil contained 40.92 ppm P2O5, 613.0 ppm K2O, 28.82 ppm Na, and 0.164 mmhos/cm salt. It had a pH of 7.12 and the soil type was determined to be sand-clay-slimy. Various characteristics were recorded including ascocarp features (hypogeous, like tubers) and colour (peridium, glebe red tones), occurrence frequency (infrequent), time of appearance (March to May), host (Helianthemum salicifolium (L.) Miller), traditional uses (food, aphrodisiac), eating quality (excellent), habitat (basic soil, sand-clay-slimy, and semi-arid zone), fresh weight (20-150 g) and ascospore morphology (reticulate and warty spherica, 15-18 mu m, medium size). In conclusion, the habitats of T boudieri and H. salicifolium should be protected by turning those fields into natural protected areas.

Twelve different methods were compared for storage of a newly isolated mushroom strain, Schizophyllum commune Fr. The fungal strain was stored in different media [sterile distilled water (SDW), glycerol (15%) or media including trehalose], in different forms (mycelium-colonised wheat seeds, mycelium-colonised agar plugs) and at different temperatures (+4, +20, –20 °C). The fungal culture was checked periodically for its viability and biological activity for up to 1 year. The mycelial recovery ratio, mycelial growth rate, mycelial biomass weight, and enzyme activity of the recovered cultures were used for comparison of the different methods. Aft er 12 months’ storage, the vitality of the strain was successfully preserved and the mycelial growth rates and biomass weight were similar for the different methods of storage. The enzymatic activity showed variability for the different storage methods. Our results show that agar plugs stored in sterile water at +4 °C and in 15% (v/v) glycerol at +20 °C are preferable methods for the preservation of S. commune. Additionally, the methods of mycelium-colonised wheat seeds in sterile water at +4 °C and agar plugs in sterile water at +20 °C are acceptable alternatives.

Abstract: The species of Morchella genus can not be collected from nature in every period of the year. Therefore, obtain to this type is not always possible. The fact that the species of the genus is nutritionally tasty makes it very valuable in our country and in the world. In Turkey, it was determined 25 species belonging to the genus of Morchella according to the literature to date. In this study, Morchella steppicola Zerova, which was collected from Kırşehir Province during the field study in March 2018, was identified, and that this fungus, was in the red list for world mushrooms, was detected from a different locality from Turkey for the second time.

In this study, Küre Mountains National Park, Bartin Province in the rest of the border must macrofungi flora areas and buffer zones between the years 2013 to 2015 inclusive were searched. The results of the field work space Macrofungal 284 samples were collected. A total of 284 macrofungi samples were collected. Laboratory analysis identified 68 species within 11 orders and 29 families. Of these, 3 taxa belong to Ascomycota, and 65 to Basidiomycota. Determined taxa were found to be growing on four types of substrates: 51 from soil, 11 from branches or trunks, 4 from logs, and 2 from leaves. This study can lay the groundwork for further biodiversity studies in the area, providing a basis for ensuring the continuity of the macromycota flora and biological diversity within the national park.
