Bryoerythrophyllum inaequalifolium (Taylor) R.H. Zander is recorded for the first time in France, in the Pyrénées-Orientales department, a national extension of the small Spanish area of that species. The new localitiy is briefly described. We report the presence of Gonioplectrus hispanus (Cuvier, 1828) in Mexican waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Four specimens (198–224 mm standard length) were caught at two locations south of Veracruz. These records increases the number of species in the family Serranidae for Mexico to 113. We include morphometry and meristic data of our specimens.

In mainland Europe, it was very recently reported from France (Pyrénées-Orientales, Saint-Laurent-de-Cerdans) (Hugonnot & Chavoutier, 2015), close to the only hitherto known European locality in Spain (Gerona), also in the eastern Pyrenees (Lloret, 1988), but it has not been seen in the latter locality since 1987 and is listed as Near Threatened (Brugués & González-Mancebo, 2012). Bryoerythrophyllum inaequalifoium is thus reported as new to Portugal, represented by two localities in Serra de Monchique and one locality in Serra de Sintra. ...

Bryoerythrophyllum inaequalifolium (Taylor) R.H.Zander (Pottiaceae) is reported here as a new genus and species record for Thailand, where it occurs on a degraded calcareous substrate in sub-alpine forest at the summit of Doi Chiang Dao Mt., Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary, Northern Thailand. A description, line drawings, photographs, and SEM micrographs are also provided.
