... MODEL AND PARAMETERS Fig. 2 shows the considered basic configuration with a sending coil on the pier and the corresponding receiving coil on the vessel. As better visible in Fig. 3, at least two receiving coils should be considered, placed on both sides of the vessel, in order to guarantee the wireless charge, irrespective of the docking side of the vessel (i.e. ...

Rural and remote areas will continue to struggle to keep up with urban telecommunications despite the progress that has been made with initiatives such as the Mobile Black Spot Program (MBSP) and the NBN fixed wireless and satellite. But, now a more radical approach is needed as we consider updating the Universal Service Obligation, public safety n...

... The main difficulty is represented by the relative motion between the boat and the pier, which affects the coupling between the transmitting and the receiving coils [2]. We have somewhat reduced the relevance of this problem by adopting a special technique of damped mooring, which decreases the amplitude of the relative motion, but the remaining coupling variations have to be dealt with by the control system of the wireless charger. ...

Ship shore power reduces environmental pollution during ship docking, while achieving significant economic benefits. The special working environment of ships places high demands on the safety, speed, and stability of shore power supply. The essential characteristics of Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) technology have provided a new field for ship shore power research. This paper first introduces the development history and application status of ship shore power WPT at home and abroad, and analyzes the key technical issues of WPT technology in the field of ship shore power in detail, including power lifting technology, system tolerance to misalignment and Robust control technology, and electromagnetic compatibility technology. Subsequently, the future development direction of ship shore power WPT technology was discussed.
