... The HC-05 module is a notable small module that provides the functionality to facilitate full-duplex for indoor or short-range wireless communications across a number of hand-held applications [34]. This module is very valuable for facilitating connection between two processing devices, such as Arduino microcontrollers or any microcontroller that is capable of supporting Bluetooth connectivity [35]. The module enables the communication between microcontroller kits via a USART interface, with a typical baud rate of up to 9600 [36]. ...

Abstract—In recent years, the surge in car theft cases, often linked to illicit activities, has become a growing concern. Simultaneously, countries grappling with oil shortages have shifted towards converting vehicles to run on liquid propane gas, presenting new safety challenges for car owners. This paper introduces a novel integrated intelligent system designed to address the challenges of car theft and safety concerns associated with gas-based vehicles. By seamlessly integrating these concerns into a single system, it aims to achieve significantly improved performance compared to traditional alarm systems. The proposed system consists of three primary parts: the car security subsystem, an Internet of Things (IoT)-based real-time car tracking subsystem, and the car safety subsystem. Utilizing key technologies such as the Arduino Microcontroller, Bluetooth module, vibration sensor, keypad, solenoid lock, GSM module, NodeMCU microcontroller, GPS module, MQ-4 gas sensor, flame sensor, temperature sensor, and Bluetooth module, the system aims to provide a comprehensive solution for the mentioned issues. Furthermore, the vibration sensor plays a crucial role in identifying unauthorized vehicle operations. Its significance lies in detecting the vibrations emanating from the running engine. Concurrently, other modules and sensors are utilized for real-time tracking and enhancing vehicle safety. These measures include safeguarding against incidents like fire outbreaks or gas leaks within the gas container. Finally, the system was compiled and practically tested, with results that worked well. This work provides some basic steps to enhance vehicle safety and security, as well as to prevent theft and overcome safety concerns related to gas leaks

Recently, many cases of missing children between the ages of 14 and 17 years have been reported. Parents are always worried about the possibility of their children being kidnapped or lost. This work proposes an Androidbased solution to aid parents in tracking their children in real-time. Nowadays, most mobile phones are equipped with internet service capabilities, allowing them to connect with the world. The system's architecture is built on three main components: GPS satellite, IoT technology, and NodeMCU microcontroller board. The most important features of this work are its low cost, lightweight design, and small size. The Blynk app is installed on the mobile phone, and the GPS module is attached to the NodeMCU microcontroller to obtain the child's location. Then, the location information is accessed through the Blynk app with the help of map services.

The rate of death relative to the size of the world's population has remained constant, according to the world health organization (WHO). WHO targets to minimize the ratio of road death to the half by 2022. This paper discusses a way for accident detection and notification which can decrease this ratio. Piezoelectric sensors used inside a helmet to detect degree of trauma which interpret into electrical signal that used to determine if trauma is serious or not based on predetermined threshold. This trauma can be a result of any type of accidents. So, a detection system established to request immediate help from relatives and emergency department by sending SMS to them contains the longitude and latitude. In normal mode helmet can work as tracking device for the relatives.
... The PIR is composed of a pyroelectric sensor, which can recognise different levels of infrared radiation. The level of radiation will increase with the increase in the object's temperature when the human passes from the front of the PIR, the sensor will detect the human temperature and return a logic "1" from the sensor output pin [19,20]. To increase the detection range of the sensor, a hemispherical lens is used to collect radiation from different angles and direct it to the sensor as shown in Figure 7. ...

Besides the development of technology in recent years, there has been an effective tendency to construct smart cities and homes. Whereas the smart home control system components can be incorporated with the existing home appliances to eliminate the need for human intervention, save electricity, protect homes from accidents as well as the theft, and provide home residents with comfort. This work comprises the utilising of the internet of things (IoT) technology to build the proposed design for the smart home. The proposed design includes many subsystems as well as several types of sensors, such as the passive infrared (PIR) sensor, the gas sensor, the soil moisture sensor, the water level sensor, the temperature sensor, the light-dependent resistance (LDR), and the flame sensor. Each sensor will be connected to the Arduino Nano for the data processing purpose, after which the Arduino Nano will be connected to the NodeMCU module via the digital pins to implement the IoT subsystem. The proposed system also includes a smart garage gate based on Bluetooth HC-05 module with a specially programmed android app.
