Introduction The famous stucco limestone coated “Bust of Nefertiti” housed in the Neues Museum, Germany dated 1,345 BC is an icon of beauty. Sculpted around three millennia ago by Thutmose, the bust still emits a charm that leaves its audience spellbound. However, no one, to the best of author's knowledge, has analyzed this sculpture or its photogr...

Context: With the growing interest in treating the mandibular contour by a minimally invasive technique, botulinum toxin application in this area is increasing in popularity and relevance since the initial technique has been described. Objective: To present BTXA/Prosigne®, a brand marketed in Brazil since 2003, as an alternative to the toxins used in the literature involved in this indication, and to present an academic review on Nefertiti lift. Design: Academic review Methodology: An electronic search of articles involving the use of botulinum toxin for redefinition of the mandibular contour was performed. Main anatomical aspects and techniques were highlighted. Conclusion: Many variations of the initial technique have been described, increasing the popularity and relevance of the procedure. It is particularly useful in younger patients with platysma muscle overactivity and good elastic skin containment. Although there is no consensus, a total of between 30 and 80U of Onabotulinumtoxin A seem sufficient for effective and safe treatment. The superficial injection technique is essential to guarantee safety and minimize the risk of adverse events. Clinical studies showing equivalence of efficacy and safety between BTXA/Prosigne® and Onabotulinumtoxin A. A dose equivalence of 1:1 suggest that we can reason with the same doses in the case of choosing BTXA/Prosigne®. Keywords: Academic Review. Botulinum toxin A. Mandibular Contour. BTXA. Prosigne. ... A study has quoted that the naso-oral proportions and lip features of the sculpture of Nefertiti are in approximation to the golden ratio. This divine ratio or proportion is also highlighted as a reliable marker for quantifying the beauty and attractiveness of the face [4,5]. ...

Introduction Golden ratio and beauty are two inseparable sides of the same coin and have been studied for centuries by the Greeks. This divine ratio is defined as an invincible parameter in aesthetic dentistry to measure looks, symmetry, and balance. Being beautiful and handsome also boosts confidence in today’s children and therefore is a top priority for young growing kids. However, there is no study done to define facial measurements based on the golden ratio in preschool and school-going children that can succor aesthetics in formative years. The purpose of this research was to evaluate facial proportions in the vertical dimension, quantify them in reference to the golden ratio, and analyze the association with gender among preschool and school-going children of the Santhal tribe in the Bankura district. Materials and methods A total of 399 subjects, 198 children of 3-5 years with primary teeth and 201 children of 6-12 years with mixed dentition, were selected from schools in villages of Bankura district, West Bengal, India. The subjects were made to relax in a sitting position and a digital vernier caliper was used to record the following vertical facial parameters: total facial height (TFH), trichion-gnathion distance (Tr-Gn), and subnasale-gnathion distance (Sn-Gn). The total facial height was correlated with sexual dimorphism and dentition. The ratio of Tr-Sn/Sn-Gn was calculated and compared with the golden ratio. The ratio was classified as normal (if it was between 1.6 and 1.699, i.e., normal to the golden ratio value), long (if it was more than 1.699, i.e., more than the golden ratio value), or short (if it was below 1.6, i.e., less than the golden ratio value). This facial analysis based on the golden ratio was correlated to sexual dimorphism and dentition. The data were recorded, compared with gender, and statistically analyzed using the unpaired t-test and Chi-square test. Results The total facial height was larger in males than females in both primary and mixed dentition; however, the value was highly significant in primary dentition. Tr-Sn/Sn-Gn ratios were lower in the long facial category in both males and females in both preschool and school-going children. The values were statistically significant in these ratios for both dentitions. Conclusion The majority of children in the Santhal tribe of Bankura in West Bengal did not conform to the golden ratio and showed long faces. There was a significant association of facial features with sexual dimorphism. Clinical significance The early prediction of facial features in children and its confirmation with the established golden ratio can be considered an imperative parameter to comprehend facial aesthetics and symmetry

Background: The ancient queen Nefertiti has been celebrated throughout the history as one of the most gorgeous women to have ever lived. Her striking looks have captivated people for centuries, inspiring countless works of art and even fashion trends. Nefertiti's beauty may have been enhanced further by her hairstyle, which included a long, flowing wig that draped down over her shoulders Study design: It was a randomized controlled study, conducted at Institute of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery LUMHS Jamshoro Hyderabad for the duration of six months from September 2022 to February 2023. Material and Methods: In this anthropological study, the frontal view of the face was studied. When the lower two and three canons were measured, it was estimated that both the proportions were equal and the ratio was 1:1. The study was approved by the review and ethical board committee of the hospital. The measurement of vermillion of the upper and lower lip revealed 1:1.4 ratios. Results: In the lateral view of the face, the lower two and three canons were measured and the ratio was exactly the same as measured in the lateral view i.e. 1:1. The length of the nose and ear was almost equal i.e. 23 mm and 22 mm, respectively. Conclusion: The sculpture of Nefertiti’s bust was made three million years ago, and the difference of time period in both the events still the anthropometric parameters are quite similar in both the cases. Keywords: Beauty and Queen Nefertiti.
