With the increasing requirements for public safety in modern society, the traditional authentication method is far from meeting the needs of protecting human safety. The biological features represented by human face, iris, veins, voiceprint, etc. play an increasingly important role in identity recognition, and are relatively found and get more atte...

... preprocessing such as normalization and denoising, filter enhancement and vein pattern segmentation, thinning repair, then extracting its features, and then registering with the database in advance or the characteristic data stored on the IC card is matched to determine the personal identity. Figure 2 shows the advantages and disadvantages of vein recognition. Advantages of vein recognition: a) High anti-counterfeiting: The characteristics of veins belong to the internal physiological characteristics of the human body, they will not be worn, not exposed on the surface, and the probability of being copied or stolen is very small. ...

This paper introduces a novel quantum embedding search algorithm (QES, pronounced as "quest"), enabling search for optimal quantum embedding design for a specific dataset of interest. First, we establish the connection between the structures of quantum embedding and the representations of directed multi-graphs, enabling a well-defined search space....

Purpose: To study the variation of iris thicknesses in different regions and explore the possible correlations with age and gender. Methods: Healthy Chinese adults were recruited; the anterior segment of their eyes was imaged by swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT). The horizontal scan of the right eye was selected, and the thickne...

Filtering modules are essential devices of modern microwave systems given their capability to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the received signal or to eliminate the unwanted interferences. For discriminating between different components, a filter exhibits a frequency-selective response that, however, is not able to distinguish between differe...

The morpho-anatomical structure of the aboveground and underground organs of the rare endemic species Iris (Juno) magnifica, growing under natural conditions of the Zeravshan ridge, Samarkand mountains, has been studied for the first time. A comparative analysis of the morpho-anatomical structure of the aboveground and underground organs revealed c...

This research proposes a smart entrance system to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic in public places. The system can help automate standard operating procedures (SOPs) for checking. The paper focuses on exploring the problem context related to the COVID-19 SOPs for public places. The research on technologies involves using thermal cameras, fingerprint recognition, face recognition, iris recognition, object detection and cloud computing. These technologies can be integrated to provide a more versatile and effective solution. The technological solutions proposed by contemporary researchers are also critically analysed by investigating their advantages and disadvantages.
