... The LPG unloading is done by the liquid/gas arm to fill the tank using the compressor. The LPG loading is performed by the liquid arm attached to the tank using the pump to ensure the filling in good conditions [20,34,35] as mentioned in Fig. 8. Several maintenance failure scenarios have been detected in this equipment: pumps, compressors, and liquid/gas arm, which are presented in Table 8. ...

This paper presents a new model to quantify the risks associated with maintenance activities by coupling the risk analysis method with fuzzy logic. The goal is to calculate the qualitative values of the risk level. The quantification of the Risk Priority Number (RPN) is based on three parameters: frequency, detectability, and severity. However, its result is often subjective and does not present the exact value. In addition, the combinations of different scores related to the three aforementioned parameters may have the same value of RPN even when the importance of the risks is not the same; hence the utility of fuzzy logic. A model based on the fuzzy sets theory is proposed for assessing the risk level of maintenance failure scenarios in the LPG supply chain. Such approach allows choosing priority failures that affect equipment and the whole supply chain system.
... According to Ferber, MAS can "reduce the complexity of solving a problem by dividing the necessary knowledge into subsets, by associating an independent intelligent agent with each of these subsets and by coordinating the activity of these agents" [7]. Thus, MAS are distributed systems ideally adapted as a set of agents that interact according to a set of mechanisms and properties [8]: ...

Recently the increasing need for implementing sustainable development concept in industrial system's strategies is imposing the use of relevant tools that facilitate the design and management of overall performance that supports the contribution of firms in sustainability. This paper focuses on the multi-agents system as a promising approach that presents potential benefits to support this environmental and social challenge. It presents the major features of this method and examines its ability to meet the overall performance important needs and issues in industrial systems. It provides also an overview on the deployment of multi-agents systems to design and implement sustainable performance in industry. The study shows that, despite the important role of multi-agents systems in achieving firm's sustainability, they still not fully utilized to address overall performance, with all its environmental, social and economic aspects, as a key challenge in the enterprise.
